Sculptural Goldwork Butterfly: February 21st-March 14th, 2026
Join me a four-week, online course focused on creating this sculptural goldwork butterfly. Based on the Papilio Canadensis, this class blends traditional goldwork and stumpwork techniques, offering a unique exploration of texture, movement, and depth. You’ll learn to harness the sculptural qualities of stumpwork (with a few twists) to bring to life the dynamic motion of this butterfly, using innovative techniques that make the wings rise and flutter off the fabric. As we explore the enchanting details of this insect, you'll gain expertise in crafting intricate textures with goldwork threads and three-dimensional effects and by the end of the course, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind embroidered butterfly.
Please Note:This is an intermediate course and we recommend having some goldwork experience. Stitching outside of class will be required. (Each day’s work must be completed in order to move onto the next steps)
The workshop will run via Zoom and will be recorded. The kit is included in the cost of the course and will be shipped 2-3 weeks ahead of the workshop. An email will be sent at that time with joining instructions.
Materials: All necessary materials for stitching will be included in the kit. However, students will need metalwork scissors, and may find a mellor/stiletto, and stitching stand helpful.
Part 1: February 21st, 2026 2:00pm - 5:00pm GMT
Part 2: February 28th, 2026 2:00pm - 5:00 PM GMT
Part 3: March 7th, 2026 2:00pm - 5:00pm GMT

A note on U.S. and International orders: At this time, I am unable to take on the administrative task of managing duties and taxes for international orders. Please note that local duties/taxes/tarrifs will apply on arrival in the destination country. If you are registering for a workshop, the value of the package will be the cost of the kit and not the entire cost of the class. Should you have questions, please feel free to drop me an email and I will do my best to assist you.
